Help Shape the Future of the VisComm Industry

This survey is brought to you by creative agency OuterEdit, and supported by the NTUC Infocomm and Media Cluster.

By sharing your stories, you’ll be helping us shape initiatives and policies that strengthen protections, open up opportunities, and create a more sustainable future for everyone in the industry.

About

The Visual Communications (VisComm) industry in Singapore continues to evolve. OuterEdit, together with the NTUC Infocomm and Media Cluster, is committed to engaging with the community to better understand their needs. Our aim is to explore ways to support professionals in areas such as workplace protections and career development. To do so, we'd like to hear from you on what things are like on the ground. Please take a few minutes to share your experience with us in this survey so we can shape the future of the creative scene together.

The goal is simple – to better understand the needs, struggles, and hopes of those working in the visual communications sector – especially designers, art directors, copywriters, account managers, and creative professionals like you. We’re curious about how you work, earn, and grow; what protections and resources are available (or missing); and what you envision for the future of VisComm.

Whether you’re working freelance, in-house, or as part of an agency, your voice matters. The findings will be published in a report, and as a respondent, you will be the first to receive a copy.

FAQ

  • If you’re working in the Visual Communications (VisComm) industry – whether as a designer, illustrator, animator, photographer, art director, copywriter, account manager, or in any related role – we’d love to hear from you. Freelancers, full-timers, and part-timers are all welcome.

  • The survey should take about 30 minutes to complete.

  • Your responses will help build a clearer picture of the challenges, opportunities, and needs within the VisComm industry. Insights will be compiled into a report to be shared by the end of the year, with the goal of strengthening protections and support for industry professionals.

  • Yes. All responses will be kept anonymous and used only in aggregate as we're predominantly interested in trends and themes. Any quotes or anecdotes that we mention will be completely anonymised.

  • Once the survey closes, the findings will be analysed and put together in a report. We’ll share this report with all respondents via email first. Afterwards, it will be available for download by the public so that everyone in the industry can benefit from the insights.

  • We’d love it if you could spread the word and share the survey with your colleagues, peers, and networks. The more voices we hear, the stronger the case we can make together.
